Police are pooling extra resources into catching drug and drink drivers this weekend.
Operation Stop Drink Drug Drive is commencing today, Friday 15 September, and running through to 11.59pm Sunday.
It follows the detection of 26 alcohol and 79 drug driving offences in South Australia during Operation Danger earlier this month.
Victor Harbor Woman Charged
A 40-year-old woman from Victor Harbor has been charged with drink driving, driving under the influence and resisting arrest.
At 12.15am this morning, police were advised that a woman who appeared intoxicated had entered her car after leaving a Victor Harbor hotel and drove off.
Patrols were quickly on scene and caught up with the suspected vehicle on Battye Road at Encounter Bay.
The driver submitted to a breath test where she allegedly provided a result on 0.219 – more than four times over the legal limit.
She was granted police bail to appear in Victor Harbor Magistrates Court on 6 November.
Her car was impounded and she was issued a 12 month immediate loss of licence.
