Alleged Drink Driver Caught on Rims on Freeway

A driver has been stopped driving on rims on the South Eastern Freeway this morning.

About 1.50am Monday 4 December, police were patrolling in the eastern suburbs when they saw a Toyota sedan travelling south on Glen Osmond Road at Leawood Gardens.

As patrols were watching the car they allegedly observed it veering over all three lanes.

Police activated their emergency lights to pull the car over, at the same time the rear passenger tyre blew, but the Toyota continued on to the South Eastern Freeway.

The car eventually stopped, police breath tested the driver, a 24-year-old Bridgewater man, who allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.188.

He was reported for drink driving and lost his licence on the spot for 12 months. His car was impounded for 28 days and he will appear in Court at a later date.
