Neutrog has unveiled the plans for a $3.5 million dollar research and education centre at Kanmantoo.
The biological fertiliser company plans to increase its on-site laboratory capacity fourfold and create a new education hub for industry, schools and the community.
The company says the movie is necessary as over the next 20 years, food production will have to increase by 70 to 100 per cent from diminishing areas of arable land just to feed the world’s growing population and that bio fertiliser will play a big role in this.
Neutrog in 2022 managed to raise $3 million dollars via a crowd-funding campaign.
The news comes following more complaints from community members about the growing stench in the region, with legal battles marring the company since 2022.
The Southern Argus reports that the Mount Barker Council will contact the State Government to intervene on the smell and dust from the site.
