Bay to Birdwood
South Australia’s iconic Bay to Birdwood event is back on Sunday, October 20.
This historic motoring extravaganza will this year feature more than 1500 vintage vehicles to be cheered on by around 90,000 spectators.
Since its inception in 1980, Bay to Birdwood has become a must-attend event for car enthusiasts across Australia. The parade features many colourful characters (including a large percentage in period dress) from around the world showcasing a stunning array of veteran, vintage, and classic vehicles, as they cruise through the streets and roads of Adelaide and its surrounding suburbs.
AND – some exciting news: the `90s are back at the iconic Bay to Birdwood.
General admission tickets are rolling back to 1994 prices for this year’s Finish Festival, happening at the National Motor Museum in Birdwood on Sunday, 20 October.
Following the historic vehicle parade, the Finish Festival is where thousands of spectators enjoy the day-long festivities and meet the proud owners of the vintage vehicles.
Key highlights:
- ‘90s ticket prices: General admission tickets are priced as they were in 1994
- Families can save $39 on a family pass and adults can save $17
- Tickets: $32 for families, $14.50 for adults
- Nostalgia encouraged: Visitors are invited to dress in their best ’90s (or earlier!) outfits to enhance the retro atmosphere, complete with all-day entertainment, Fashions on the Field, and delicious food and drink
- Parade start: The first Bay to Birdwood vehicles will leave Barratt Reserve, West Beach at 8.15 am, cheered on by tens of thousands of spectators as they journey to the Adelaide Hills
- Parade facts: The oldest vehicle entered this year is 120 years old (from 1904), and the newest is 30 years old (from 1994)
- Finish Festival arrivals: The first vehicles will reach the National Motor Museum from 9:30 am
