Thanks to some quick work from CFS fire crews overnight, a house in Hindmarsh Island has been saved from a vehicle and carport fire.
Eight firefighters from Goolwa CFS on two trucks arrived on scene around 3.30am this morning, Thursday 31 October, as a vehicle fire spread rapidly through the structure.
A quick response allowed firefighters to assume control of the fire and to limit damage to the carport, effectively saving the rest of the house that shared the same roof structure. The damage to the impacted assets is estimated at $135,000.
SA Police and SA Ambulance assisted firefighters on scene and Fire Investigators will attend later today, with no cause yet identified.
Property occupants were assessed by SA Ambulance on site and no injuries have been reported.
