The Beautiful Bogan – Comedy Night at Parrakie

Marc Ryan, who refers to himself as The Beautiful Bogan is a comedian dedicated to raising awareness for mental health and a story of hope. He is motivated by his own mental health journey and a childhood that was not ideal, dealing with abuse and growing up below the poverty line.

Marc is coming to the Parrakie War Memorial Hall on the 5th of April 2025 to perform his comedy show ‘Hope’. Perfect timing ahead of Mental Health month in May.

Parrakie has a history, we have lost 4 community members in the last decade to suicide, in a town with a population of 78. We have also lost multiple community members due to tragic accidents, most recently in December losing a community member having lost his wife only 11 months prior in a vehicle accident, he tragically passed away in an on-farm accident that rocked the community as a whole and has resulting in trauma for many.

Marc delivers his message of hope, delivered through comedy whilst raising awareness about mental health.

At the end of the day, we want to prevent suicide, support our community by reducing the social isolation and raise awareness of mental health. This event is only the beginning.
