The heritage-listed site has undergone a major redevelopment, establishing Fabrik as a new arts and cultural destination.
The renovated spaces are home to purpose-built galleries, workshop spaces, artist studios and accommodation for an artist in residence. The newly built pavilion building features a retail store with carefully curated artisan-made goods and is also a place to host events.
Throughout the entire space, there are museum displays that showcase the textile roots and Onkaparinga Woollen Mill history.
Fabrik’s vision is to connect with contemporary art practice, domestic makers, First Nations cultural practices and international traditional textile production, while exploring textile sustainability, reuse and recycling to write the next chapter for this beautiful site.
