The plan includes a competition-level 25 metre lap pool, a toddler splash and play area, a warm water therapy pool, gymnasium, café, crèche, and community and wellness rooms.

The precinct on Council-owned land, within a precinct bordered by Bald Hills and Springs Road is near the Summit Sport and Recreation Park.

Federal Member for Mayo Rebekha Sharkie, was on site on Friday for the official launch of the project.

“I will be forever grateful to the former Federal Government for listening to me and allocating $15M to the project, to the current Federal Government for honouring that commitment and to Dan Cregan – Member for Kavel for obtaining $7M in State Government funding,” Sharkie said.

The project is due for completion by October 2024.
