A talented young shooter in Murray Bridge is flying to Peru today for the International Shooting Sport Federation’s Junior World Championships.
Molly Bretag first took part in the event in 2022 as part of the bronze medal Trap Junior Women’s Team and last year she made the finals as an individual in Korea, placing fourth.
The 21-year-old, who is gunning for gold in her final year as an entrant as a Junior entrant, has this month been awarded a prestigious scholarship for 2025.
“The Sports Australia Hall of Fame announced their scholarship applicant winners and I was one of their Tier 2 winners and you get some benefits as well as well as $5,000 towards your chosen sport, so I’m very privileged to be a part of that group now,” Molly said to ARN Radio’s Adam Connelly and Jennie Lenman this morning.
Molly was the first woman to win the National Title in an event earlier this year in New Zealand. She is pictured above with her sash and winning cup.
