The new Crafers Park ‘n’ Ride has opened this week, making it easier for Hills commuters to utilise public transport in the region.

There are now 85 additional parking spaces in the town, including accessible bays and motorcycle parking.

The park is situated southeast of the existing Crafers Park ‘n’ Ride, adjacent to the westbound South Eastern Freeway off-ramp.

The total number of parking spaces is now more than 120 across the two locations and should result in fewer cars parking on the street.

Increased safety and security are a feature, with new lighting and CCTV cameras to ensure people feel safe and secure when parking their vehicles.

There is also a mural featuring Australian fauna and flora, created by local artist Cat Dean.

The State Labor Government committed $6 million to deliver the project, which has supported approximately 25 full-time equivalent jobs during construction.
