NSW Man Arrested after Goolwa South Fire

A young man has been arrested following a house fire overnight at Goolwa South.

Just after 9.30pm on Tuesday 26 November, police and emergency services were called to Bristow Smith Avenue after reports of a house on fire.

On arrival the house was fully engulfed in flames and fire crews were battling the blaze.

The occupants of the house had all evacuated prior to arrival of emergency services and thankfully no one was injured.

A 19-year-old man from New South Wales has been arrested in relation to the fire. He was taken to the Christies Beach Police Station where he was charged with Arson. He has been refused bail and will appear in court today.

Detectives from the Hills Fleurieu local service area are currently investigating the circumstances of the fire and fire cause investigators will attend the scene this morning to carry out an examination.
