An extraordinary performance from one of the Murraylands’ best cricketers headlined another busy Saturday full of local action. Catch up on all the results here:

MURRAY TOWNS CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)

Mannum’s Zak Muirhead has smashed Monarto in Round Three action of the Murray Towns Cricket Association, with an all-time innings to guide his side to a thumping win on Saturday.

Muirhead made 213 not out off just 132 balls, which included 11 fours and 21 sixes, to nearly triple Monarto’s total score of 81. 

Other results saw Mypolonga easily win a key early matchup against the Wanderers, winning by 118 runs and Meningie beat Tailem Bend by 67 runs.

GREAT SOUTHERN CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)

A heartbreaking moment for Yankalilla’s Douglas Jones highlighted a busy first day of two-day action in the Great Southern Cricket Association.

Jones ran out of partners to finish on 99 not out as the Tigers were dismissed for 321 in the final few overs of the day against McLaren Districts, missing out on joining Noarlunga’s Jason Scarff (121) as a centurion on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Port Elliot are in the box seat for a huge outright win, bowling Willunga out for just 60 before making 5/175 in reply.

ALEXANDRA AND EASTERN HILLS CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)

Hahndorf have announced themselves as a surprise contender in the 2024 season of the Alexandra and Eastern Hills Cricket Association, after beating Nairne on Saturday to remain top of the table.

Hahndorf finished seventh last season, however are now 3-0 and outright first after they worked their way to a five-wicket win. 

Other matches from the round saw Lobethal, Langhorne Creek and Woodside all tally wins.

HILLS CRICKET ASSOCIATION (full scorecards here)

Mount Lofty held on in a high scoring thriller to win by 8 runs against Stirling, potentially previewing what could be an entertaining final early next year.

The Redcaps made 6/247 on the back of a run-a-ball century from captain Jordan Neis-Beer, before holding on against a Stirling side which had eight batters in double figures.

Mylor, Meadows and Scott Creek Ironbank also picked up the points in the other matches from the round.
