A woman has been arrested following a fatal crash on the weekend at Hayborough.
Just after 4.30pm on Sunday 22 September, police were called to the intersection of Ocean Road and Port Elliot Road after a Toyota van hit a tree.
A wheelchair passenger in the vehicle, a 59-year-old woman from Davoren Park, died in the crash.
The driver, a 20-year-old woman from Northfield, and front passenger a 30-year-old woman from Croydon Park, were both taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Last night (Monday 23 September), Major Crash Investigators arrested the driver and charged her with causing death by careless use of a motor vehicle and causing injury by careless use of a motor vehicle.
She was granted police bail to appear at Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 15 November. She was also issued with an Instant loss of licence for an indefinite period.
